Japanese sword need help

Hey guys I just got this sword from a lady who bought it in an auction years ago,,

is it real or fake,,not my area of collecting

ok last pic,,now I havent taken it apart yet,,and so far theres no markings I can see on the blade,,but once I figure how to take it apart without damaging it,,I will post the pics,,,blade tip has been snapped off and it shows corrosion spots here and there,,not the best blade,,

Thanks Gunto,,yeah condition isnt great,,its been hanging in a DoJo and just now taken down,, any Idea what its worth?

Best to see the tang before valuing a sword. Using some sort of punch (chopstick or the like) tap out the peg ... keeping in mind it will be tapered so tap the small diameter end. Once that's out the handle will likely slide off. If not try this ... strike your fist gently so that the blade doesn't "jump" out suddenly.
