Japanese Company & Battalion Commander's Badge

    Hello to all,

I just bought this Japanese Commander Badge over the weekend at the SOS. I only delve into the field of Japanese medals and badges occasionally, but I have always liked these Commander Badges. Hope you like it.

    Best regards,
    Tom

    Hi Tom,

That's a great example and one I have yet to add into my own collection. If you "delve" into the field often enough perhaps you will have enough material for another book.

Does your new acquisition have any marks anywhere on the back on the aluminum body(when the catch is open ?) I posted two last year. never seen any for sale prior. Its feast or famine sometimes...congrats. One of the ones had , and the other did not.

        Hi Stu,

Great to hear from you. Thanks for commenting.

I'll never have enough stuff to do a book on Japanese militaria, but I have plenty of German stuff for another book or two.

        Best regards,
        Tom

          Hello,

Yes! This one is marked on the reverse. I have had them both with and without the marking.

          Best regards,
          Tom

Oh! And I forgot to mention: I have owned about six of these, over the years, and this is the first one that still had its cotter pin.

            Best regards,
            Tom

I sold one here about a year or 2 ago that had the orig. cotter pin and it's orig. box that it came in.The box was marked and the badge was in exc plus cond.I sold it 20%(as I do with all my items) below so called market prices.I think I have 2 more around here somewhere but they do not have the box but both have the cotter pin.I will look for them when I get time and see if they are marked or not.I had pics of all my collection on my computer but it crashed and I lost everything so I have to take time and start all over.

              Enjoy your hobby

                      Hello Dennis,

Please post some pictures if you can. I would definitely like to see them. Do you have any with the gold wreath?

                      Best regards,

Thanks fellahs! My father-in-law took the photo. I'm guessing it was his commander: he looks like a major -- I can see one star.
