    Translation and identification please

    This was bought back from Burma by a gunner in the Royal Artillery in 1945. Would someone tell me what it says and what it is for.it is about 3 inches by half an inch.Thanks Roger

    I think its name plates mounted outside house.

      Hi Gunto it's one object front and back it's too small for a house nameplate it's only 7 cms by 1 1/2 cms.Thanks Roger

        I believe these 2 plates related to Chinese food store rather than Japanese related.

        2.four
        3.treasure
        4.vegetable ( 2 and 3 are used to describe 4)
        5. method/ way
        6. made

        A.five
        B.hundred
        C.Chinese unit in measurement weight, eg, kilo..etc
        D.oil

          Note 2,3,4 and 5 combined together is the name of the company.
