    Document and Photo Group

I have had these items for a number of years. While they may border on Japanese military they came form an estate of a civilian. This women was involved in educational missions to Japan in the early years of the last century.

The photos I am posting I need a little help with. One of the items is an invitation to meet Admiral Togo and another invitation is to the Palace I believe. Can anyone tell me what is written on the larger invitation? The large envelope is what held the larger invitation

There is also a curious photo of a young women that had a small news article with it. The article refers to General Tojo's wife. The article has a photo of her and her child. The studio photo that was with it is of a young women who sure looks a lot like women in the article photo. Could this be an early photo of Gen Tojo's wife? I have also included a shot of the reverse of the studio photo and an inscription that might help. Any opinions.

The last photo is of a government type official I assume, in court attire.

Any help and or opinions will be much appreciated.

I'm not sure that's Katsuko (東條かつ子) That's not her name on the back anyway, looks like 三木 Miki. He maiden name was Ito, she would have been a teenager around the time these other documents are from, the girl in your photo look like she could be about the right age though.

The invitation to meet Admiral Togo is pretty cool on it's own.

The first paper is also for Mrs. Jorbaugh says it's from the 官内大臣 Chief Cabinet Minister(?) on behalf of the Emperor (Meiji) and Empress dated Nov. 14, 1905. I don't have time to try and read the whole thing right now.

      My Usual Musings .....

On the reverse of the woman's cabinet card is written the name:

      三木英子

      Miki Eiko

I did a cursory google search (and images), but could not find a relation to Hideki Tojo ... when I included the kanji for Tojo, no hits.
Your search - "三木英子", "東條" - did not match any image results.
By the way, I agree that the woman bears a strong resemblance to Tojo's wife Katsuko (東條かつ). From my cursory search, her name is rendered in hiragana for the first part of her given name (かつ = = Katsu); the Japanese wiki says her alias is 勝子 [Katsuko]. And just me thinking (dangerous) ..... "Katsuko" (victory child) could be "Englished" to Victoria!

.... Tojo's granddaughter, Yuko Tojo, likewise bears a strong resemblance to her grandmother:

She's a bit right-wing in her politics ..... Here she is with her grandfather's uniform:

Thank you both for your time and input. There is one other photo of a young women that was also with this group . She also bears a resemblance to Tojo's wife. I will try and post this week.

Papa Nambu, coincidentally Miss Zorbaugh had resided in the Tucson area. These items came out of Tucson and were found by a friend of mine at a garage sale . Miss Zorbaugh was active during WW1 in France as a Red Cross representative. She had to change her name during the war to avoid detection by the Germans.

Thanks again to both of you for taking the time to help me on this.
