Help with Japanese Flag

I just acquired this flag from a estate sale.I think its a veterans flag from the Japanese Navy. Can some one shed some light on this When it was used and the value. The size is about 41 " by 43". And the color of the fringe ,whats its designation. Its in mint shape .No holes or tears. It is sewn in squares. Thanks Nick

Its a veterans flag but its not navy. Correct me if im wrong but I believe that they would write the name of the organization in the blank area of the flag.

That's a great veteran association flag but as David has said it's not limited to Navy. The strictly Navy ones I've seen have the offset Navy flag orb.

I agree, a unused Veterans association flag. Notice how the emblem in the upper right has both the IJA star, and the IJN anchor. Nice looking flag. Can't help on value.
