Japanese Samurai W hand Forged Blade

I believe thease are Shin-Gunto mounts but they look a bit diffrent then what I have seen. Lots of flowers [even more then I show in pics]. The blade looks hand forged and is "wavy" when you look down the side. Why is the tang so beat up looking? This is the way it came home at the end of WWII. It this a Showato? Any hepl appreciated.

why does the tusba look allmost hand made and has what looks like a partial hole in 1 flower?

Interesting piece. Whatever it is I believe it's patterned after the Type 98 IJA Officer sword. Assuming you are correct in it's origin then I'd say it's a field made/modified piece. Possibly in one of the occupied countries. I don't see it as made by, or for, any of the established arsenals or sword distribution centres in wartime Japan.

If your information as to it's origins is incorrect, or it came back well after the war, then perhaps it's a reproduction or parts piece made as a souvenir of the period and time.

Then again, I could be wrong. Let's wait for others to express their views.

I dont see how it can be a "parts" piece. All of the parts have a matching flower design on them I have never seen before. The flowers on rings, cap and 3 flowers on handle as well as the flowers on scabbard are all the same . It is definatly a period piece and all belongs together but I just cant indenify it. I do agree it's not an established arsenal piece. Thats why I need help from somebody who really knows Japanese swords.

Naah Toyotas are much better made than that
