    Japanese Headband

This headband was listed as"Japanese WW11 Kamikaze Headband Authentic." I wanted to get your opinions on if you think this is an original or a fake. The cloth measures about 39 inches long by about 4 inches high. There is no writing on the back and the color is off white color with what looks like some stains on it.

AND .... they printed it upside down!

          神風

And because it is old style, the kanji on the headband are read from right to left:

Seriously, though; I can't tell from the image if the kanji are printed or brushed, nor can I tell if it was printed in the USA. The kanji read Kamikaze [Godly Wind] .... but I do not know what the three smaller symbols at the bottom are supposed to be. [Okay, one is supposed to be 道 Michi/Dou = Way/path]

            For Reference

The major kanji seem okay to me; similar to this one:

            Lot 529

I just wonder -- if original -- why someone would write that wonky kanji on the bottom!

But you know ... I'll listen to Nick since he is a native-Japanese speaker. I'm sure he'd be able to tell if something was written by:

              (1) somebody who has no knowledge of Japanese

              (2) a non-Japanese who learned Japanese and understands stroke-order

              (3) a native-Japanese (or Chinese).

So, let's place our bets on Nick.

[well ... regarding (2) I have an American friend who has studied Shoudou for many years, has a high ranking, and has exhibited in Japan .... perhaps HE could trick us.]

It's an old "House of Swords" fake from the 80s. I used to have one like it. The large kanji are copied by a non-Japanese literate person, the small kanji are gibberish.
