Collection from my friend in China, just a small corner of his collection

He has so many years for Japanese collection,
His well-skilled Japanese language facilitates him to
deal with it easily. He told me he loves it very very much,
and invested near 200,000 $ for his collection, surely he is
a rich boss. Collection is born for the rich man......

Are these medals all attributed to the same man? Curious since he's displaying the French Legion d'Honneur (Commandeur Grade) and the King of Italy's Order of Saints Maurice & Lazarus (Grand Officer grade with breast star). I guess the uniform is just a prop to display these two European Orders. Your friend has a nice collection.

That Order of Brilliant Jade is pricey... nice collection overall.

I assume the 3 star collar tabs are separate from the uniform?

            2 different uniforms.
he buys any nice, high degree, excellent condition orders made by the countries, but Japanese is his main hobby.
i didn't talk with him so much about his collection, as said, it's not my field.

Some influential high ranking Japanese would have foreign medals, Gen. Nogi had the Honorary Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath (UK), the Honorary Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order (UK) and the Pour le Mérite (Germany). Admiral Yamamoto was awarded the German Knights cross with oak leaves and swords posthumously.

Correct you are! Here are some high-level British Orders awarded to Japanese in 1922

GBE= Knight Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire
G.CV.0 = Knight Grand Cross Royal Victorian Order
KCVO = Knight Commander Royal Victorian Order
CVO = Commander, Royal Victorian Order
CB = Commander, Order of Bath
CBE = Commander, Order of the British Empire
CMG = Companion, Order of Sts. Michael & George
CIE = Companion, Order of the Indian Empire

The Prince of Wales' Eastern book, a pictorial record of thevoyages of H.M.S. "Renown", 1921-1922

                    JAPANESE SUITE Japan (9)
                    Count Sutomi Chinda, G.CV.O., G.B.E.
                    Major-General Toyohiko Yoshida, K.C.V.O., C.B., CM.G.
Mr. Nobumichi Sakanobe, K.B.E., CLE. [sic, should be CIE]
                    Rear-Admiral Katsunoshin Yamanashi, K.B.E. , CM.G.
                    Captain Shinjiro Yamamoto, K.B.E., C.V.O., C.B.E., I.J.N.
                    Commander Kai Kurokawa, C.V.O., I.J.N.
                    Viscount Keimin Matsudaira, C.V.O., C.B.E.
                    Lieutenant-Colonel Masanosuke Tsunoda, CLE., C.V.O., D.S.O.
                    Marquis Tsuneyasu Nakanomikado, C.V.O.
I suppose after the situation changed in 1942 with the invasion of Singapore, these Orders were no longer worn, nor were the postnominals used.

I would say yes. My high school friend's grandfather was a rear admiral. After the grandfather died, his family had the house cleaned out of "junk". Later the junk man came back and said "what kind of family are you??? I found letters from Yamamoto Isoroku and made a lot of money off them."

My friends grandfather probably met Yamamoto in London during the 1936 Second London Naval Treaty Conference.

She still has his medals and photos; I co-authored an article about the medals in the Journal of the Orders and Medals Society of America (May-Jun 2011, "Awards to Japanese Rear Admiral Shin Arakawa").

That doesn't sound right, as they did not give out medals nor orders. There are some "thank you citations" in Tojo's name for contributions to the China campaign when he was the minister of war, but that is about it. If their signatures appear on citations of high orders those are sure fakes.
