    Cap complete with original Havelock

    Seasons Greetings to all !!

I have the oppurtunity to own this lovely cap and Havelock. With the reseach I've done recently on the forums, I feel happy everything is 100% but I would appreciate any opinions on its originality from the experts just in case I've missed something, knowing how difficult Havelocks can be to authenticate.

    Thanks
    Mike

Hard to say 100% on these havelocks but I'm more comfortable on this one then most. Based on owning, seeing and handling real ones, I would be okay with having this in my collection. Thanks for posting

Thanks for taking the time to reply. They are very difficult to authenticate when you have never handled a genuine one ( like me ), so your comments based on your experiance with these is appreciated.

              Cheers

Nice set. Havelock looks good to me also......if you do a search on here there are some great info on Havelocks. Nice Score.

The Havelock might possibly be real, but one should also be aware that more likely it is not.
I know I have been the devils advocate on these in many past discussions, but real ones remain one of the biggest buggaboos in Japanese collecting.
More of these thin cloth types with those clips and markings are around than I would like to see.
Again, known original issue ones are of heavier material and have entirely different clips and markings.
One prominent dealer/collector I knew in Japan did not think the type of Havelock shown in this thread are real, but who knows.
