Jack, that's a farmer's raincoat. They're still made that way today. It's often sold on ebay as a "sniper's cape/coat" which is total crap. Nice headgear otherwise!

Nice pictures Paul!
My main collecting interest is Japanese, especially Navy and post-war Self Defense Force items. My favorite piece right now is a very dirty, beat-up Army helmet from Buna N.G. including the "capture" papers.
Japanese helmets, headgear and equipment in general are starting to go the way of German WWII stuff, there are some amazing fakes being cranked out....thanks in part to ebay Prices there have gone completely out of control for decent Japanese helmets so it's at the point now where it's profitable to fake them well.
