Japanese Helmet Opinions (Unusual Camo)

Hello All,

I am not too familiar with Japanese militaria and wanted to get some opinions on the authenticity of this helmet. I purchased it from a local gun store. The seller claimed it was an officers helmet and that it came from an estate sale with additional Japanese items. Has anyone seen a Japanese helmet like this before? I have attached photos.

It might be a real shell but everything else is 100% FAKE and not Japanese.

Liner looks like its from a post war German civilian or firefighter helmet

Thanks for the help. I just returned the helmet with no problems. The seller told me that to the best of his knowledge, he thought it was legitimate. I'll leave the pictures up as an example of modified helmets. Lesson learned.
