Helmet Opinions

Have a chance to pick up this helmet. Normally I dont have problems with Japanese helmets but this one I just dont know. It does look like the star has been replaced, the paint is green on it. All the helmets I have had were more tan or brown this one is Green. Linner looks ok as does the strap. What do you guys think?? Thanks

Better pictures are needed in my opinion. The strap looks like a replacement as the ends are not sewn and the rear retaining loop is not there. Also its not in the right multi piece configuration. If the liner is real, it has been treated. Better, closer pictures would tell the whole story!

Shell looks good, paint is a little on the green side BUT that could be okay. I've seen some late war helmets that are not anywhere near the Japanese brown color. Can't tell on the star - I see rust on the surface which doesn't necessarily mean it's replaced. Could be a later helmet in which case the steel could have just been painted over the steel. Have to see the back side prongs and a clear closeup pic front and back. Straps look like they are replacements - don't match the condition of the rest of the rig and I don't like the way it just passes through the rear ring (a clearer pic is needed). Liner looks okay but can't make out any detail.
