Hello guys , I just picked this statue up today and was wondering if anyone here has any info on its production and year as well as why it was produced , appears to be painted bronze . ive not cleaned the dust off of it just yet.

You're not giving us much to work with. This sort of thing would have been more popular in the more militant era of the 30s, but Admiral Togo is (rightfully in my opinion) still considered a hero to this day. Even Nimitz was a big admirer and had the US Navy assist with restoration of Togo's famous flagship, Mikasa, in the late 50s.Comment

By the way, your statue (and most of the other Togo statues I've seen) is based on this one which is at Mikasa Park.
