Strange Japanese cap

Some time ago i have found this Japanese cap, as i am a collector of Dutch and German stuff i dont have a clue if this is a original ww2 cap.
Can someone give me some info about it?

I don't know Japanes caps very well, but to me it looks like a dressed up civilian cap (star added).
