Kaiguntō Blade

Salut,

Can you please me more about this blade found on a naval Kaiguntō from those two seller's photos please ?

I take it is an original pre 1945 made blade ?


There is a stamp on the tang - the photo is poor but it looks like an early Seki Cutlery Inspection mark ?
Can we date the blade from that stamp ?
Am I correct to assume that this stamp was superseded by the later one with the "leaf" outline in 1941 ?


What is the exact purpose of those painting ? they are done by the arsenal aren't they ?

Its a seki blade from ww2 and the painted numbers are for assembly purpose.
I only know of one seki stamp.

The blade can not be dated other than it is pre-1945 ?

Its from 1941-45.

The anchor is in a sakura blossom or circle.

Seki ju Yoshida Kanekado.

He made showato from medium-high grade.
