    Help with Japanese sword #2

This is the second of five. I purchased this from the son of a C-47 pilot who acquired this in Japan at the wars end. This sword is in beautiful condition. The 27 inch blade is beautiful and retains a sharp edge. I do see one slight ding about 4 inches from the tip. The scabbard is also in very good condition retaining almost all of it's paint and trim. The handle is engraved on both sides which I have tried to show. Again, I would appreciate opinions from knowledgeable collectors . Thanks Rich
