    Help With Japanese Sword

Over the last 2 -3 years I have had the good fortune to purchase 5 Japanese swords straight out of the woodwork. They came from 4 different sellers (one of them had two swords)and all of them were bought from the vet's children or relatives. I will post the roughest one first and describe it as best I can. The scabbard is wood held together my masking tape. The blade is 27 inches long with no dings or gouges. The tsuba (?) looks old and carefully made. the handle is wrapped in some kind of twine. I don't know how well or poorly this sword was treated since the war. The maker mark is stunningly clear and deeply engraved. I ask my fellow Forum members to provide whatever insights they can. I would appreciate itvery much. Thanks Rich

    Sword

Sorry to say but this one is not looking so good, from the kissaki to habaki this one has Souvenir or Chinese/pakistani repro to it. Never seen a fuchi (fitting above tsuba) like that, overall it has many concerns
