      I can find no fault with this piece. An interesting transitional piece with an older handle and newer saya. i have seen this a few times in the past. It appears some one got an excellent buy as it sold for the money of a gendaito.

          The leather on the handle and the casting of the backstrap is very poor. Fake hamon and mei. Clumsy seppa.Its from a german company named frankonia.

              Same backstrap and seppas. These replicas are easy to spot.

              Where is the little screw thats holding backstrap and fuchi?

              The overall patina dosnt look old.

              I have been holding one of these repros in hand.

                I have to agree, something looks really wrong with this one. The mei, esp that first character, looks really bad. I see there is a hamon, but still, I think this is a fake....

                Is this type of transitional model listed in any of the books?
