    WWII Japanese Pilots Badge

    Hey gang!

This piece walked into the shop this morning. Can anyone translate the inscription on the back please?

    Thanks in advance!

    It says 第八十七期 堀越勝壽
    第八十七期 87th time
堀越 Can be the name Horikoshi or Horikoe. Horikoshi seems to be the more common version. The 2 kanji in this name could also mean "Canal/moat/ditch" & "to cross over", so I can't be 100% sure if it's a name or some cute term for crossing over a body of water like Japan to Korea.
    勝壽 Victory congratulations
