Early Navy Tanks and Other Photos

    Hi everyone,
Thought I would share a few photos I bought recently here in Japan.
I had a couple of questions about these photos I found:
    http://imgur.com/a/DA6jA#0

    1. Is the "flight style" helmet that the guy is wearing the earliest tank helmet used by the navy? (photo 5)

    2. What kind of cap is the navy cap in photo 9?

    3. Is that body armor that the guy in photo 1 is wearing? Did only officers wear it?

    4. Is photo 10 late war NLF officer?

    5. Army soldiers with flotation vests?

    Thank you in advance.

That fellow isn't an officer. He's wearing a bayonet. He likely either had a more hazardous job, like a machine gunner or sapper, or, since he's wearing an early type helmet this may have been a time they were trying out the idea of issuing body armor to go with their new helmets.
