    A small silk damaged flag

    Hello!

I like to share this flag made of silk. It seems that the most of it has been exposed to the direct sunlight so the colour is really faded and has lots of stains, tears and a big holes on the front.
    Dimensions are 12" x 14"

Maybe someone could help to understand what the Kanji's writing says?
    What about the red stamps???

    Thanks in advance!!!

A good example of how NOT to display your flags!

The kanji on the right is the most common slogan found on these flags "Prayers for eternal good fortune in battle"

Can't make out the other side but the red stamps like that are usually from temples or shrines so that's probably saying where it's from.

A frame is fine if you do it properly (and keep it out of sunlight) and to keep this one from falling apart further you will probably need to do that. But no thumbtacks please. I know there was some discussion about the best way to frame a flag here before.

My flags either hang by their tabs if they are fit for it, or are stored rolled around a tube.

of course....they reminds me when I was a youngboy and was common way to use them to hang posters on the wall under the screaming of my mum as musical background caring for the wall!!!
