    Bringback Find - Photos

Actually I collect mostly Great War Era pieces. However, this popped up at a live auction and couldn't pass it up. The rifles are nothing to rave about, a Naval Trainer and a T99, believe 27th Series rifle that has had the stock shortened. But the entire rig was fascinating.

Includes shipping box with 3rd Marines ID (which was quite the active unit in the Pacific), Capture Papers nailed to the top from "Pacific Fleet Marines," rifles, mint bayonet and scabbard and the fellows duffle bag.

Thought it may be of interest you gentlemen!

    Best regards,
    - Mike

Im with Dean, Very cool. I would not have passed it up either...... The 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines fought hard in Bouganville and Guam. Is there a date on the capture papers? You might be able to pinpoint the location by the date. Thanks for sharing.

      David.
