I recently bought a small grouping of Japanese bringbacks from the neice of the deceased ww2 vet. This cotton sash / flag / piece of cloth was among his goodies. Does anyone have any idea as to what this item is? Could it be a belt of 1000 stitches that was never started? It measures 12 inches by38 inches.

No idea what it is, but I can translate the wordings as follows:
1.Working together/ combined together..etc
2. heart
( so, 1. and 2. reading together means "use our heart to work together)
3. killing
4. force, energy, power..etc.
The other one looks like a name to me.Comment

Not as long as it should be, because when these things happen I stop responding in general to discourage further visits by such types. Once they see that they get free appraisals here, they swarm in and contaminate the forum. When that happens I close shop and wait till the air clears.
