Japanese Compass ID

Hi Guy's
Trying to identify this compass & determine whether it's Aircraft or Navel Vessel. It has Marine markings stamped on it & is 6 1/2" in diametre & 4 1/2" in depth & rather weighty.

I'm pretty sure this is a boat (small craft) compass used in everything from whale boats, landing craft and I think larger life boats. Could you post a closer picture of the tag on the outside of the box?
