    Arisaka w mum and inscription

Picked this up recently. Picked up by s/sgt Spiller. Im guessing he put the Japanese writing, but what do you guys think. If it isnt jibberish, what does it say. Also says Oi Hangora ??? Got the mum and bayonet as well. I dont know if this is good/bad but seems to have a bullet stuck about 3/4 up the barrel. I had a gun friend look at it and he said the bullet probably didnt have any powder, just a primer when the soldier shot it. Hard to say. I tried getting it out a little, but its in there good. Part of the history I guess and since its just a wall hanger and not a shooter, I will probably leave it.

What's the name of the GI? It might be easier to track down where it was picked up that way

On that date, which was a Monday, Allied Forces were engaged in fighting in the Gilbert islands, North Solomons and west New Guinea. US Marines landed unopposed on Nanumea in the Gilberts.
