          Your blade is definitely an older hand made blade. The style of temper line and steel color would place it somewhere in the Edo Period 1600-1871. The blade has been shortened from it's original form. Further identification and appraisal of age could only be done with a hands on examination. It is definitely not a Showa Era oil tempered blade.

              If the blade is a hand forged water tempered piece, there is no way to estimate value from pictures alone. It needs an in hand examination by a learned collector/student to look for any flaws which is something a novice can not do.

                            You can sell your sword on Ebay with a reserve price Im sure that you can easily get over $1400...its a very nice sword with beautiful hamon possibly polished not so long ago..
