Unknown badge with Manji? help?

Hello everyone, I pick up this badge from a friend and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what it is? And what does it say on it? I can't read kanji too well.
Also does anyone know how old it is? I am guessing it from at least World War 2.

Worshiper badge from Bukkokuji, a small temple in Kyoto. Yes, probably from before 1945, but not really worth anything.
