Hello, this was brought home and "carried thru the whole War" by a member of the Army 168th Field Arty Div. He picked it up off a large map table or something similar in New Guinea. He knew it was a subtender but nothing else and asked if I could help with the translation. It is silver plated brass and its dedicated to the launching of the ship Taigei Nov. 16th 1933. The Taigei was converted to an aircraft carrier and actually survived the war. A nice item to come home with. Best. Bill Bourque
