    Japanese helmet-opinions welcomed

This is a first for me as I don't have any Japanese items in my collection except for a Type 38 and 99 rifles. So I thought a helmet on display with them might look good. I picked this up from the estand last week. I really like it and want to know what the Japanese collectors think of it. Thank you.

    Regards,
    Mike

Ink stamp behind front pad. Looks like there is a number 14 in it ?

              so far so good.

              Mike,
I collected Japanese headgear for years. The cloth liner is a rare variation, 1939 date. I am of the opinion this is original. Others will chime in.

The paint is definitely period. I would feel confortable with this helmet..

I guessing this is the soldier's name painted on the side inner rim?

Detail of rear ring and chinstrap. The stitching on the liner band has not surprisingly failed here.

Probably, but only partially readable. Might be Yoroya.

Helmet is fine. Al the canvas liner variations are dated 1939.
