kanji help please

hi lads, a mate of mine has these 2 swords and would like to find out a bit
more about them, smiths name and dates, your valued help is very much

first sword Showa ju hachi, 1943
smith Kunimoto

second date is showa ju go 1940

checking on smith ...first kanji dont look kosher to me
