        I'm not real familiar with army visors so I wasn't going to comment, bit my opinion is it's an original in great condition.

            There's one in Hewitt's book, it was to protect visors from soiling and tears. A period photo in his book shows an enlisted soldier without the red piping around the crown of the cover. The example cover he has, has the red piping around the crown. I have a similar one that came with an officer's visor with red piping. The one on ebay looks very much like mines.

              These are one of the very most common of all Japanese headgear. Finding them in mint condition isnt difficult. Two types of covers were made. One I believe was waterproof. Covers are also easily found & both on eBay often
