Now this eBay auction is neat....

I hadn't looked at the price before reading the description. I went in thinking no way there could be good enough provenance to have peace of mind, but I think it does. I would going to bid until I saw the opening bid! Wouldn't even bother with an offer

I'm posting this because I highly doubt the active members of this forum would be a bidder. Forgive me if I'm wrong.

Wow! Only 108 spikes. Now I can finally build myself a small part of the River Kwai bridge. Absolutely amazing...and cheap. Great item with rock solid provenance as well.

      Rail spikes.

      Good one Joel!

I picked up about five of these, plus some bolts, nails and rocks when I went to the Bridge and railway in 2000. I'd call mine a grouping! Always thought they would eventually worth something. Now just got to remember where they are?????

These are indeed from the Railway of death even though the asking price is insane. I have 4-5 of them. Don't know where they are but i still have them somewhere. A family member bought them from a friend to help their (legit) cause. They were then given to me. All the letters and even the box are exactly the same as mine. I had forgot about them till seeing this.

I was thinking about $39.99. worth of neat anyway.

The cause may well be legitimate but this somehow strikes me in the same way as when I first learned of the Seabees making yosegaki hinomaru for unsuspecting buyers.
