    Thank you Nick. Exciting movie.
Japan lost a battle, but does not lose war. The colony became independent, and Japan achieved a war purpose.

Hello Nick. Does a movie like this ever make it to the states? Are there reasons why not? Movies from a different POV are some of the most enjoyable. One I would like to watch. Thanks,Gerald..

I suppose that is simply a question of whether an American would see it making money in the States, enough to feature it. Being outside of Japan, I too have to rely on the internet to watch such movies, so I haven't seen it myself, but from what I heard, it does not touch upon the fact that the US side had already broken the diplomatic codes and knew about Pearl Harbor, the omission of which probably makes it more viable outside Japan. Furthermore the key message of the ads poses Yamamoto, as one who strongly opposed the war, but who got dragged into it by the current of the times, so at least they packaged it with some international potential. The actor is also already known in the US, having played in Memoirs of a Geisha, so that is another plus for international distribution.

I just finished watching the movie on the net, so I'll share it with you here. http://www.dramacrazy.net/japanese-m...o-watch/252990
I've read the famous biography written by a former navy man, and find the movie quite faithful to that Yamamoto. The book featured also his love life with his mistress, but the movie omits that as one would expect.
