Japanese militaria is not my collecting interest but where this was offered to me from an ad I run locally I thought I would share it with you folks who have an interest in 'stuff' like this.
The seller believes it's an air powered gyroscope for use in their torpedos. Would love to learn from you folks if that's true. The box that the gyro is in is roughly 7" square and 8 & 1/4" high or deep.
The serial number on the front and stamped on the piece is 3158.
If anyone reads Japanese I hope you might have something to add relating to the nomenclature.
My questions - are things of this nature rare? If anyone is interested in this thing please email me & I'll happily hook you up with the owner as I have zero interest in something like this where I lack a live torpedo to put in in as well as the Mitsubishi A6M to drop it from.
