    Mei Translation Help

Hey guys, I just picked up a nice sword at an auction, but I don't know much about them. Any translation help or dates would be much appreciated. There is one small bad place on the blade where it looks like a problem when the blade was forged. What do yall think???

Really? This thing is that old?? So I'm guessing it is legit? Do you know about what it would be worth? Thanks for the reply!

        From Mei, I think so.
Value of this Wakizashi(Katana?) is depend on condition, etc.
        Please let me know length.

From length, this is Katana(Uchidakata), not Wakizashi.
            Can you put more pictures?
I want to see Hamon and Kissaki.

              More pics

These are the best I could get with my camera. I hope it shows what you asked to see. The hamon to me looks like I guess what you would call billowing? When you asked me for the measure I gave you the whole thing from tip to rear, I thought katanas were longer. Thanks.

If that's the overall length then it is indeed a wakizashi.

What is the length from the tip to the notch where the tang starts?

                Regards,
                Stu

with the big ware or Kizu it has little value other than a artifact from that era.

It is about 21 inches from tip to notch.
