    bayonet help

    hello everyone.
I was in a pawn shop today, and stumbled upon this Japanese bayonet for $89, so I bought it. I'm not knowledgable with Japanese stuff, so I was hoping all of you could help. Any information as to its authenticity, maker, and value would be great. I have some photos here: http://s1141.photobucket.com/albums/n592/nreed_94/ The serial number is very blurry in the picture, so just for your reference, it is: 3331584. Thanks for the help!

    Hi nreed_94,
Nice one and at $89. Here's a website that will help you out.
    http://www.japanesebayonets.net/

It's a Toyoda Automatic Loom Works (TALW) Arsenal (http://www.lvstrings.com/bayonet/TALW.htm) late war bayonet with wooden scabbard. Seen then go for $225.00 and up.....

Condition is hard to tell from those pictures...at least for me. I'd say that you got a decent deal if all is in acceptable shape. If there are cracks in the wooden scabbard or damage to the blade then the value mentioned above would be higher than I think you would obtain on resale.

        Regards,
        Stu
