Japanese Mechanics Badge???

Hello,

I just got this Japanese badge today and I really have never seen anything like it except for the mechanics badge. I was wondering if anyone could give some more information on it because I am a little lost.

I can read some of the Kanji on the back which gives the date of 1943 and a Japanese province or city...but after that I got nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Looks like a watch fob. There are some similar ones here http://www.imperialjapanmedalsandbad...watchfobs.html but no exact match.

Thank you very much for pointing me in that directions! I had no idea what a fob was...but I think I really like these guys and will look out for them a lot more!
