Army flag with anchor and fringe

Can't seem to find out what this flag is. Pretty rough shape. Any thoughts?

        Japanese Veteran's assoc. flag

This is a Japanese Army/Navy Veteran's Association flag. This one looks wartime,. I do not know the specific name of this organization but everybody I know who collects Japanese Id's this as such.

I had the bright idea to read to the seller's description. They said it is a homefront reservist flag. Origianl pole too, like I thought. Needless to say, the anchor is what intrigued me, but from what I understand, it doesn't mean it has anything to do with the IJN.

Correct, its just there to cover the bases. Include both branches of veterans.

I'd be willing to bet the original pole is rarer than the flag.

                I'd take that bet too!

IMO pole should be smooth under the flag pole slip
sleeve area, not the all ribbed type used on tie on flags.
