    Help with sword Kanji please?

    Just picked up this Seki stamped Gunto.

    I think the date reads.

    17th year of Showa period, so 1943?

    Can't trace the Mei yet though.

    Any help please guys?

      Sho Wa Ten Seven Make = 1942

      Maker name Mune Naga,,,page 120 of Sloughs,,,,course what do I know,,might be _____________ Sada or Tsugu,,,but it looks right. Hes also listed in Hawleys MUN-297,,,,thats if Im right, and Edokko will tell you,,,thats iffy

          You can do it that way but you have to include 1926 as the first year or 1,,,,I always just do it from 1925,,,easier on swords and firearms

              That is what is a pain in about meis...there is usually 3 ways to say the damn name lol, and even native speakers can't pick which it is for sure.
