Japanese helmet, cover and net

Gents,

I picked this up at an estate sale. Japanese helmets are not my field, so can I get some opinions on what exactly I have here please . The helmet shell seems to be covered in a very old dark brown paint or maybe some sort of oil/grease that has gone hard over time, not sure what it is.

Mike, in my opinion it is a modern helmet that has been aged to look old. The net is a known repro....
