Unmarked Naval Sword - Possible Maker??

    Hey Guys,

I know it's a long shot, but could anyone share their thoughts on this sword, I would really like to know the maker.

    Cheers.

      seem ok

Difficult to tell from the photographs but apart from the tassel which should be plain black, it seems right. The hamon ,again not easy to see detals, could well be applied rather than tempered & as the mounts are late quality in all probality the blade is just a sunagi and not hand made in either tempered forms , eg rolled or forged.

Good luck, even if my thoughts are confirmed Kai mgunto are rare and very collectable.

Gunto is correct brown tassels for navy. The sword is probably machine made. If it's the stainless type they have an anchor stamp with black kanji showing the numbers on the pieces for the mounts.

I dont like the seppas and the hole in tsuba for the lock clip. There is no lock clip on that sword.
