    Date Translation Help

    I appreciate any help in translating the date on the bar for the Medal of Merit. The case and medal appear to be a nice early strike , but the date looks like April 26, Showa 44. I would appreciate a complete translation of the date on the bar.

      Thank you very much. I was careless mistaking the 5s for 4s. Most silly when I got the 4 correct for April. Old age, I guess.
