Japanese army field cap

Guys,

Any chance this is real? I do not collect Japanese, so I have no idea. I tried researching it, but found none like it. All the ones I found had vent holes. Could it be late war? Any info you could give me would be much appreciated.

It is the original field cap.
I think that made 1945 or 1944 data.

I would be very suspicious because it doesn't look textbook. The stitching (especially around the star) looks very post-war. Have you blacklighted it? My guess is possible original hat (who knows wether military or civlian) with post-war added star.
