    Question about Japanese helmet

I have purchased a Japanese helmet. A friend of mine told me that for a Japanese helmet to be original it must have Japanese characters stamped into the metal on the inside back of the helmet. Could anyone provide me information if this is factual? Also I was wondering abount Japanese helmets that are not stamped with characters in the metal. Could they still be original? Thank you guys for your help.

If it is an actual army combat helmet there should be stampings on interior rear. There should also be a hand painted in white size marking. If not then your helmet is likely a very common civilian/last ditch/ home land defense helmet. Is there a flat, star insignia on front of your helmet ? Photos would be best

Does that apply to all helmets? I posted recently a helmet I purchased, it doesn not have a stamp

Here is the inside of a helmet I recently purchased. Looking on the back is what appears to be, just to the left of the size large mark, a very faint stamping that looks like a T or the number 1, with the bottom of the T towards the rim. This picture doesnt show it well-could that be a stamping, it is all I see on the inside. The picture does not show the stamp

Here are a couple of other picts of the helmet from a previous thread. Without a distinct stamp is the shell fake?

I think you're safe, some were struck fairly lightly.
Is there a date on the underside of the front liner pad?

The very faint stamp, if that is what it is, is directly to the left of the white line that crosses indicating large-is that where a stamp should be?
