    Toledo Military show Flag finds

Picked these up at our local show here in town yesterday, not a bad day for japanese flags. The army is a real nice one with the signatures and the banner is not a bad piece either.

Does the banner tell what town/city it's from?

Some nice show finds. Did you see any other flags or tops at the show?

Thanks! Yes there were a few other flags there but just the usual national flags with writting in the japanese area, there were some German flags but just run of the mill, I did get a line on a 35 star US flag though.

Thanks Paul, at the rate I'm going with Japanese items I'm going to have to learn how to read kanji.

Thanks Pammy, what is the best way to display this type of flag? Framed under glass/plexiglass or another way?

Thanks! Still not sure what will be the best way to display it, hate to leave it tucked away in the case, I have a little room left on my wall.

                          Hi Fritziii-
If you want really good instructions for framing your flag, you might try looking over at the Conservation thread of this forum. There are a number of good conservation tips that have been posted and pinned there. Hope this helps. ...And speaking of Maumee, Ohio my mother was born and raised in Maumee. It's a terrific little town, quite picturesque. I also have cousins in Sylvania, just down the road. Cheers, MikeB

Cool Mike! My Aunt/Uncle live in Sylvania. Yea, Maumee is a great place, born and raised here myself, alot of history here in NW Ohio. Thanks for the heads up on the thread, I'll check it out.

Certainly deserves a nice place on the wall! Acid free mount, UV protection glass and no direct sunlight will be just what it needs! Be prepared for a little sticker shock when you get a quote on frameing it!
