Wasn't me, but educate me on this one. Is any part of it at least original? is it repro, or just a frankenstein mess?

total fantasy creation. Look at the stitch work, liner, etc. Not even based on any known pattern or variation.

Is that supposed to be a copy of an NLF paratroopers helmet?

                  stuff

As time goes on , we will see the Japanese market do just what the nazi market did . Ive noticed as i am sure a lot of you guys have that in the past year or so the Japanese stuff is getting reproduced more than ever , I first noticed it with the flags and now they have moved on to the helmets .

They sure looks crappy. The seller stats they are originals from end ww2.

I have made some replica items over the years ,but allways stated they where replicas when they where sold.

Its even worse, but the problem is some "uneducated collector" is going to buy it for like $500...

Last week he sold this helmet http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-WWII-Jap...efaultDomain_0

ALMOST identical to the one he has on now for sale.
One thing ive noted about all 3 of this sellers helmets as well as his other helmets in the past is he does the liner witht he same material everytime. Seems that he uses a blue wool base and then adds a tacky grey brandnew plastic liner. All the liner are same materials.

There have been fake/fantasy items in Japanese collecting market for years. It is just in the past couple of years that these are coming up on Ebay more.
