    Fullfilling a Soldiers Dream

Forum, I had just received this grouping with the promise that I would help a WW2 11th Air Force soldier deliver a message to a Japanese soldiers family that had fought and died and was buried in a mass grave at Massacre Bay, Attu, Holtz Bay in the Aleutian Islands, US. He based there as a signalman with the Air corps for three years. Sgt L. Williams took these items from a Japanese soldier. I am hoping that the forum can help any way they can to let the family know that he was buried in a mass grave on the Island. For your viewing is the Japanese soldier's wallet photos of him in uniform with the medals, China Incident War Medal - Order of the Sacred Treasures 8th Class - The uniform straps in the picture are the same straps that are for your viewing. There is a photo of a child, possibly his. There is another photo of a family that has the same features. The reverse of the photos has something written in Japanese, maybe identification? There is a data tag and a piece of a Japanese aircraft. Hopefully someone can ID the Data tag for me. There is a pink piece of paper with something written. I guess my only hope is that the writing on back of the photos could be a name or identification that could name the dead soldier so his family and the american soldier could have some peace. Thanks

Lt. Williams barracks and station is the building behind the Colonel Yamasaki sign. I would think that pictures from this part of the war would not be common.
