    Kanji on bayonet grip?

I got this some years ago. Seller told me it was picked up by a 2nd lt. James Bradford ,Battle for Okinawa.
It got kanji ??? and it looks like 44?? on the other side.Any opinions what it says?

The bayonet frog looks to have some field repair.

In my opinion those type of grip stamps/brands are usually found on trainers & type 30 bayonets removed from service for training. they are usually the name of a school or university etc
