    IJN Helmet

    Hi all,

This afternoon i spent with a Canadian 1st special forces veteran. This man has literally a museum worth of militaria, and wants to sell it all. The pictures he had on a disk for me so there not great, but there is a Japanese helmet he said was given to him in manila in 1945. Sorry for photos there not close up of details, but is this what a standard Japanese naval helmet should look like? he claims it was from Japanese marine, but im not sure. Any help appreciated.

Seems to be an original Marine/NLF helmet.

Do you have some pictures of the inside of the helmet? The front rivet looks wrong. Looks like a domed IJA style. Need better pics all around but I am not feeling it yet.

Absolutely need helmet interior pictures. Anchor looks suspect.

The paint on the anchor is the most vivid I have ever seen if it is original

Here is one http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...stencil+anchor that is vivid like that. I have had one like that as well. I just want to hold judgment for better pics. The front rivet has been replaced at some point. Should be the flat IJN type.
