    Japanese Hat Insignia?

I picked this up with some U.S. items. I have no idea if it is even Japanese, but the U.S. items were from the Pacific Theater so I am taking a guess here. Please help if you can.

    Thanks Jerry

Most of these are either school or Worker Wartime hat emblems- you'd have to know the "kanji" and symbolism ....to know exactly which one it is...

    Semi-official, quasi-military....but most would consider this WW2 I'm sure....

If collar size...could be a collar emblem...if "hat size" then is a hat emblem....hard to tell without a scale......

Thanks. It is about the size of a U.S. fifty cent piece.

The kanji shows it is from the Patriotic Youth Brigade (青年会 Seinen-kai)、also known by different translations. It was (is) a loose-knit group of various youth groups across the country. The two kanji in the lower petals read 'Yamamoto 山元.' That is a place name.

These can often be found on last ditch/civilian defense helmets
